Biggest Poster Job To Date!

Jon Hampton at AEG Live contacted me a while back with the idea to illustrate and design a set of 7 posters for upcoming concerts the were presenting at the Mann Center in Philadelphia. At first the posters were to all line up and connect one show at a time but the idea changed last week to make them all be able to connect to one another in any combination. This forced me to make the posters a little less dynamic but I'm still happy with them. I ended up with only 2 days to redraw and ink them all.

Check out the original sketch at the bottom to see what might have been. I might still finalize the original sketch later this summer when I have more time...just for fun. These posters will be given out for free at each show so be sure to grab one if you find yourself at any of these concerts. 6,000 will be printed for each show!

*I removed the larger images until after the shows are done but I'll add the low res colored versions after each show.

Thanks guys, this was a fun job and I hope people going to the shows hold on to these prints.

what an amazing set of shows. too bad they didn't let you go through with the original, but then your solution for fitting them together is also great. just love all the little details ... the crooked rain mentioned above ... spoon in fire. these would definitely be on my wall.

Crazy! Some of your best work, I think.

Thanks Tom, it was definitely the quickest turnaround time I've ever had to work with for this number of posters.

Holy shamolees! That's incredible stuff. What a shame about the first idea - that hair throughout everything is just insane! Reminds me of the Beach Boys "Endless Summer" LP cover. You did a great job on the final, everyone looks great.

Thanks James, I really wish we could have gone with the first sketch but I think I'm going to ink it in once I have some free time and give it to the Mann Center to use it as they see fit. I just really want to ink all those waves haha.

Is there any way to get a poster (say, for MGMT) without attending the concert? I'd love to get one for my sis who lives in Bmore and is going to the show at Merriweather.

Thanks Dominic, Hi Melissa I'll let you know if the venue will let me send you a print after the show.

I went to see the Arcade Fire and got your awesome mini poster and I was so excited since I was going back to see Cake and could get another! But sadly I didn't see them being handed out anywhere :( any chance I could still get one?
