Shane Scheel from Upright Cabaret was in need of an artistic poster for a performance he is putting on in November. Shoshana Bean of Hairspray and Wicked fame is singing a set of Barbara Streisand songs at Lincoln Center on Broadway. This was a quick job but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Below is the sketch I sent last Friday. The final didn't turn out too different and I think I actually like the sketch better. Oh well.

Nice Paul Pope-style Lettering!

Thanks Jeff, I actually had a copy of Pulp Hope on my desk when I was doing the illustration. When I finished drawing Shoshana I thought it needed that handwritten type.

Solid piece , you were born to ink hair with a brush ;-)

I always love the way you render hair. Your brush-strokes and hand-made type are amaaaazing! Wonderful color choices too!

Thanks, I love to draw hair.

Dominic- I might need some advice on things to check out. I definitely want to see some bands while I'm up there.

Thanks Keisha,
I just went to your blog and really enjoyed looking at your work. Your portraits are dead on. My favorite was the Jay-Z illustration.
