LT Illustration for ESPN the Magazine

I got this assignment a couple weeks ago from Gil Ahn at ESPN the Magazine. They were fun to work with and I'm glad a got a chance to do something sports related. I love music illustrations but it's good to get a change of pace now and then.

This Is Not A Robbery at Tribeca Film Festival

This is a still from the movie This Is Not A Robbery that I worked on last winter. I did the illustrations that became animated for various scenes. It was a long process but it was worth it when I saw it on the big screen at Tribeca yesterday. My friend and fellow illustrator Okan Arabacioglu was involved with the movie as well creating all the lettering. It was fun bringing Baltimore to New York. When the movie hits the local theaters, definitely check it out. The directors Adan and Lucas did a great job.

End of a long weekend

This past weekend I went nowhere and did nothing but draw. I missed the Monotonix show and the Aggrolites show and stayed in my room obsessing over getting 3 assignments done. These are 2 of them. The first one is Black Thought from the Roots for Philly Weekly. The concept is about their new album's title "Rising Down." The Second illustration is of Willie Nelson for Baltimore City Paper. It's for the Music Review section. The third illustration not pictured is still possibly in the works for ESPN Magazine. I'm still waiting for final approval but it should be up on the blog soon. It's a drawing of Ladanian Tomlinson, all star runningback for the Chargers. I spent 2 days straight working on it and now I want to go to sleep.

The Monotonix are Coming....

This is for Philadelphia Weekly. I like this band so much that I wanted to do a full page worthy illustration though it's only a spot. I hope it works out.

Mass Transit Anarchy

These are illustrations for the next issue of The Independent Reader. The top illustration is for an article on the adventures of students riding public transportation in Baltimore. The bottom illustration deals with the same subject and is for the cover.
