Several words come to mind....

After many arguments with friends over whether or not the Michael Phelps scandal has been blown out of proportion, I decided to draw a picture like every other cliche illustrator out there. I think he did this to himself and I don't think age is a good excuse. I don't think getting high is that big a deal but when you have endorsements and a hero status image to live up to, maybe smoking in the privacy of your own home is a better idea.

Twitter goes to the Grammy Awards

Spot illo. for Philly Weekly about Twitter.com blogging the Grammy Awards. I was hoping to draw Chris Brown behind bars or an old looking Robert Plant but maybe next time.

Someone had to do it..

Here's a poster I just designed for my friend Justin's ongoing comedy night at the Sidebar. Check www.sidebartavern.com for details. Justin's stand up is great and so will everyone else's.

More optimistic illustrations..

I know there is a lot of useless merchandise out there displaying President Obama's image but I don't think it's such a bad thing. To me it seems like the country is, if not in better shape, at least is in better spirits at the moment. I feel like how I imagine artists like Norman Rockwell and Roy Lichtenstien felt when they created their presidential portraits. It's nice to draw the president without negative feelings. Of course time will tell how things will turn out but for now all we can do is stay positive and
hope for the best.

Tomorrow's PW cover

A cover story about Philly's only battered women's shelter. Pretty cut and dry concept that AD Tim Gough came up with that I think really works well. The title was still not decided which explains the "title here" at the bottom.
