3 illustration, 2 shows, and 1 long, sick, weekend

For Phoenix Magazine. The article is about the woman who was afraid to pull over for a cop on a dark road and was finally pulled over where the cop proceeded to smash her window and arrest her. She was going 10 miles over the speed limit.

For Baltimore City Paper. The article is about the connection between Dennis Wilson's final album and a reissue of a Droids album.

For Philly Weekly about math rockers Polvo.

Lyme Wars and Angels

Philly Weekly cover about deer ticks and lyme disease. Tim Gough, the new Art Director at PW has been nice enough to let me do another cover just 2 weeks after the Roots cover I did.

Illustration for Angels on Earth Magazine. The article is about a triathlete who got help from who she thought was a guardian angel. This was a fun assignment and the Art Director was extremely nice and positive.

Mccain: 4 more wars.....

This is an illustration for Phawker.com. This has no religious meaning. Jonathan wanted me to make Mccain into Ganesh because of the connection between The Elephant and Republicans. I thought it was also a good reason to show Mccain doing 4 things at once to demonstrate his real and false promises. I hope it works and as always, no offense to the Hindu religion. I hope Mccain doesn't have any angry siblings.. refer to old Phawker posts to understand why.

I'm no Shepard Fairey but..

This is for Jonathan at Phawker.com. The colors and theme are based on Shepard Fairey's Hope print for Obama. I wanted to play off his design without trying to emulate his style. A lot of people try to copy him with simple photoshop techniques but to really produce work like his is not that easy. So this is not me trying to be like Fairey, it's just supposed to allude to his print.

Heavy hangs the fro...

My weekend is finally over. I got to draw a lot of people and things I admire. This is a cover assignment for Philadelphia Weekly about The Roots Picnic in Philly. The extra illustrations go with text that fits in or around the illustrations. Now it's sleep time.

Joey Ramone for Philly Weekly

James Brown split screen for Baltimore City Paper

Here is a cover for next month's Imagine Magazine. The second illustration is for the inside cover. Their idea was to use Warhol's soup can painting as an idea for an issue on contemporary arts.
